Tutor Application
Volunteers are a vital part of Delaware County Literacy Council’s (DCLC’s) mission. Volunteer tutors work one on one with an adult student, helping him or her to learn basic reading and writing or to speak English as a second language. Volunteer tutors provide instruction and encouragement that help adult students widen their horizons, exercise more control over their lives, and enhance their workplace skills. The rewards of volunteer tutoring are deep and long lasting. There is no better feeling than seeing an adult student make progress toward his or her goal.
Classroom Aide Application
Volunteer Classroom Aides assist classroom teachers at Delaware County Literacy Council (DCLC) in delivering instruction to adult students. DCLC Volunteer Classroom Aides provide assistance during at least one full class per week. An exception to the full class rule is made for ASE GED subject-specific classroom aides.
