DCLC is seeking qualified candidates for the following openings:

Full-Time Director of Student Curriculum and Instruction

The role of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction is to ensure that DCLC’s students receive instruction that prepares them to achieve their academic and workforce goals. The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will supervise the teaching staff, including overseeing the instructional practices, efficacy, and professional development of individual teachers.

This Director will also ensure that DCLC’s instructional services are internally aligned to support student progress and externally aligned to standards and best practice. This includes keeping current on trends in the field of Adult Education as well as knowing Pennsylvania Department of Education Guidelines and assisting the agency in being compliant.

Job functions include:

  • Supervise teaching staff including hiring, regular class observation, and annual performance reviews. Monitor teachers’ performance through student outcome measures, classroom observation, and student feedback.
  • Have an understanding and working knowledge of all PDE guidelines for Adult Education.
  • Lead the agency’s professional development planning, implementation, and measurement and work with the IHPDS to plan professional development for teachers and staff.
  • Actively pursue knowledge of adult education best practices and funder requirements.
  • Assist in grant writing, management, and documentation.

Bachelor’s degree or higher and 10 years of work experience in adult education required; experience in PDE/ABLE-funded programs preferred.
