DCLC is seeking qualified candidates for the following openings:
Part-Time ESL Instructor
Teaching Mondays/Wednesdays in person, 6:00-8:30 PM, at Upper Darby High School
DCLC ESL instructors prepare and deliver standards-based adult education curriculum in classroom settings. Lessons must address real-life goals including attainment of citizenship, getting or keeping employment, and transition to GED or post-secondary education.
Instructors will submit weekly lesson plans and key student data, including attendance, goal attainment, and barriers to participation.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience in ESL instruction are required.
Part-Time Math Instructor
Teaching Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays in person, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, at EDSI, 160 E 7th St, in Chester, PA
DCLC math instructors prepare and deliver adult education curriculum in classroom settings. Lessons must address real-life goals, including the math skills adult students will need to reach their potential as employees.
Math instructors should be competent at organizing and delivering education curriculums to adult learners in an effective way. They must understand the fundamentals of their teaching subject and be able to explain them to adult learners as needed. They also need to carefully supervise and assess learners’ performance.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience in math instruction are required.
